QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have a valid California Driver’s Class “B” License with Medical Card certification provided and by a commercial Medical Provider and passenger endorsement certification DOT Non-Ambulatory Driver permit required Must provide 10 years of DMV driving history (H6 print out from the DMV) Prior knowledge of automobile maintenance preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification required Must be able to pass drug screen Must be physically clients, for instance, climbing up and down stairs, carrying shopping bags, manipulating wheelchairs in and out of wheelchair lifts, managing frail elderly with walkers, assisting heavy clients on and off the van Demonstrated ability to work well with seniors, staff and volunteers. Must be flexible and able to take initiative Excellent communication and organizational skills Able to enter and maintain accurate computer records and report program statistics. Culturally sensitive, able to work with multicultural client/customer population; ability to work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive growth/outcomes; able to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries. Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting)and drug test prior to beginning employment RESPONSIBILITIIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Will provide safe and timely transportation for the frail elderly to social day care, shopping, medical and other essential appointments Will be responsible for the accurate pick-up and delivery of inter-office mail and packages; delivery of groceries to homebound SOVA clients Will have data entry duties, entering information into date base to help maintain statistical records and vehicles properly The maintenance of the vehicle includes the delivery and pick up vehicles for repair. Will also perform related duties as needed.
