Position requires acting in multiple shows and performing several roles in each program. Serves as director of plays and leads youth engagement activities. Lifts and carries equipment, sets, costumes and props into and out of performance sites. Leads and facilitates workshops both within Kaiser Permanente and in the community. Serves as a representative of the programs in the community and/or within the organization. Assists in the development of new programs, workshops and products. Leads special team projects and serves as project manager as requested. Participates in leading facilitation of interactive workshops and educational activities for youth and adults. Requires working independently and collaboratively. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Ensures ongoing compliance for Educational Theatre Programs. Essential Functions: • Acts, sings, and dances in multiple shows and in multiple roles. • Facilitates workshops for youth development and community building. • Lifts and carries equipment for touring productions. • Facilitates workshops and leads educational activities with youth and adults. • Represents Kaiser Permanente and the theatre programs in community settings. • Represents the theatre programs in internal settings.
Experience • Minimum four (4) years of advanced acting, singing, dancing and directing experience. • Minimum three (3) years of experience in an educational setting or in facilitation experience with young people/ adults. Education • Bachelor’s degree in theatre, communications and/or education OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration • N/A. Additional Requirements: • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Strong communication skills including public speaking, ability to write letters, memo’s, proposals. • Directing experience particularly in the area of theatre for youth. • Experience in the field of youth development and/or leading youth education. • Experience leading a team and participating as a team member. • Advanced facilitation and project management or event planning experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Public relations, public health or community relations experience preferred. • Master’s degree preferred. • Spanish speaking abilities preferred.
