GENERAL DUTIES:Administer radiation treatments to cancer patients.These services further the vision of Desert Regional Medical Center to create unique environments, where patients, their families, doctors and staff come together to achieve longer and better lives in the fight against cancer.DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: Setting up and treating patients.Documentation of treatments.Patient management.Patient educationEvaluation of patient needs.Resource consultant in clinical situation.First level member of management team.WORKING RELATIONSHIPSCo-therapist, tech aides, patient relatives, physicians, nurses, physicist, social workers.MAJOR CHALLENGESMaintaining a high standard of care with increasing patient treatment complexity.DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIESThose according to the scope and standards of care plus call in appropriate staff as needed to clarify treatment parameters.
