The following are the primary roles and responsibilities for this position; however, there will be other function obligations, including special requirements as requested by management:
Overall responsibility of the Engineering Department and functions required by both internal and external customer.
Have a clear understating of engineering specifications; including but not limited to; material type/temper, outside component processing, hardware specifications; including applications and other specifications required for manufacturing.
Manage, develop, and maintain ownership of engineering documentation including; configuration management, manufacturing planning, tooling design and planning, drawings, models, engineering orders, change notices, parts lists, bill of material, and all other engineering documentation associated with the manufacturing of aerospace components.
Knowledge of machining principles such as machine types, cutter path, cutter types, speed and feed rates, secondary or offline manufacturing requirements, vacuum tooling, and general machine tooling techniques.
Direct interface with the customer concerning engineering challenges and the implementation of changes driven by the customer.
Support the Estimating Team in providing time estimates and general input during the proposal phase of quotations.
Work closely with other department managers with the common goal of customer satisfaction, providing quality products at affordable cost and on time delivery.
Schedule and track new projects and maintain existing programs supporting manufacturing.
Chair a weekly Engineering meeting outlining projects, new work, tooling, and other associated requirements including action items.
