Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Possesses physical therapist assistant license per California State requirements.
Good basic knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical and physical disabilities setting.
Must be competent by virtue of training and/or experience, implement treatment plans and provide education in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient.
Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills). As applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must additionally possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation development, e-mail, browser and online reporting.
Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Assist in the education and training of students
Note: New Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening and a pre-employment physical.
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend, stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
Graduate of a CAPTE accredited physical therapist assistant program
Valid and current license as a physical therapist assistant in the state of California
Valid and current CPR certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
A minimum of 2 years total experience as a practicing assistant and evidence of ability to perform at this level preferred.
A minimum of 1 year experience in the acute care setting preferred.
