The Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate (PdRA) position will serve as a research trainee for the purpose of enhancing and developing research competencies of our Ellison Institute. The qualified cell biologist candidate will have a strong interest in cancer biology. They will use and build on cell lines developed in the lab to develop co-cultures and study the effects of hypoxia on the dynamics of different cell populations using a high throughput imaging platform. The candidate will work in close collaboration with a diverse team consisting of cancer researchers, computational scientists and clinicians to generate and evaluate quantitative microscopy imaging data. Key technical skills include mammalian tissue culture, live cell imaging and analysis using advanced image analysis software.
Preferred Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years
Preferred Experience: 1 year
Preferred Field of Expertise: Directly related education in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, primary tissue cultures and live cell microscopy or other relevant discipline with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods. Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the same or related field. The candidate should present strong written and oral communication skills.
