Verify identity of patient, take short history, including family history and medications.
Attend to patients needs and establish rapport; evaluate the patient: age competencies, cultural differences; explain testing procedures.
Recognize life-threatening situations
Perform EEG, EP, Adult or Pediatric Telemetry, Intra-Operative monitoring, ICU or extend monitoring as requested.
Assist attending MD's resident MD's, EEG/EP fellows in analyzing completed studies; recognize abnormal patterns; recognize EEG patterns for various conscious levels; recognize EP waveforms.
Provides age appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served
Maintain equipment in good working condition
Maintain working knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
Maintain working knowledge of various drugs and anesthetic agents on EEG's and EP's.
Maintain working knowledge of neurological disease and effects on the CNS and PNS.
Keep current on new electrophysiologic technologies and anesthetic agents.
Maintain working knowledge of principles of electricity and electronics.
REEGT Certification with minimum 3 years experience required
CLTM Certification preferred
Experience working in an epilepsy monitoring unit, long-term monitoring, or telemetry unit
Knowledge of complex and/or advanced procedures, such as Phase II implantations, cortical stimulations, WADA, and EcOG
Adept at using specialized equipment and materials for long-term monitoring patients, including collodion and acetone
Advanced waveform recognition skills required
