The Speech Language Pathologist provides a full range of clinical services related to evaluation and treatment of communication disorders in an inpatient setting. The individual communicaties patient related information to physicians and Medical Center personnel directly involved with patient care and provides educational material to patient and family members.
Education: Masters degree from an accredited education program.
Licensure: Current Speech-Pathology License for State of California. Certificate of clinical competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Current Clinical Fellow with strong medical externship experience may be considered.
Experience: Working knowledge of evaluation and/or screening of speech, language, cognition, perception, voice, swallowing, oral motor function, non-speech communication, visual field defects, developmental assessment, etc., screening of hearing; planning and implementing individual and/or group treatment. Ability to use good judgement in an emergency situation, Ability to work effectively with other members of the health care team and patients. Good organizational skills and flexibility.
