Teach courses in the Media Theory and Criticism Option such as
History of Television, Genres in Cinema and Television Arts,
Introduction to Mass Communication Arts, Mass Media and Society,
Television-Film Aesthetics, and Criticism in Cinema and Television
Arts. The candidate is expected to develop the curriculum in
Television Studies. The ability to integrate new modes of
production, distribution and exhibition of television into the
courses and curriculum is desirable. Conduct and
continue to develop a strong research and scholarly publication
profile. Advise students and participate in faculty governance.

For purposes of reappointment, tenure and promotion, emphasis
will be placed on teaching effectiveness, scholarly and/or creative
achievement, and service to the university and community.
Faculty is expected to contribute professionally at the state
and national levels. Teaching may be assigned in a second area of
expertise appropriate to the qualifications of the candidate,
including courses in the general education curriculum.
