SUMMARY:Cobham is seeking a Production Manager who is responsible for leading the production operations of the production line to meet customer and program commitments. Ensure team operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Facilitate cross-functional root cause problem solving (RCPS). Drive continuous improvement of the Value Stream at all levels. Achieve agreed-upon KPI objectives for product line; achieve value stream goals for quantity, cost, delivery, and inventory. Provide regular feedback to production staff and conduct timely annual performance appraisals. Facilitate performance dialogues and encourage employees to elevate issues, identify root cause using 5 Whys or other tools, make suggestions and take corrective action. Participate in SOF-related training offered to value stream members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:Supervises the line leaders who oversee the production cells. Includes participating in staff selection,
performance management (including evaluation and discipline), coaching, training and employee development, and ensuring compliance to legal and company requirements.Coordinates training, develops and inspires line leaders to develop high performance teams with the skills needed to conduct effective performance dialogues and RCPS.Works closely with the Value Stream Planner to ensure production schedule is met, making adjustments in work flow as needed.Monitors KPIs boards and reacts to metrics and action item lists. Facilitates RCPS discussions to identify processes to improve KPI metrics. Solicits assistance from support functions as needed or escalates issues that cannot be resolved at the line level.Conducts process confirmations to ensure standard work processes are being followed. Identifies and addresses non-compliance and lowered productivity, looking for continuous improvement opportunities.Ensures 5S practices are adhered to and sustained within work area.Ensures all operational processes are carried out in accordance with quality systems and procedures.Supports quotes with estimated times to completion data (ETCs) for new products; participates in engineering and production transfer meetingsCommunicates with others across the organization to gain information and support, escalate issues, receive feedback and suggestions, and provide updates and information. Acts as liaison between downstream team and other departments.Ensures that Safety, Health and Environmental compliance is included as part of every day activities.Upon completion of RCPS training, must develop and demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: problem identification, data collection to clarify a problem, identifying point of cause, identifying and implementing containment actions, facilitating brainstorming sessions, creating action plans, identifying and optimizing solutions to problems, verifying solutions eliminate root cause, standardizing solutions and communicating changes; use of check sheets, cause and effect diagrams, Pareto diagrams.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
