The pharmacy technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures.
-Graduation from accredited Pharmacy Technician School preferred.
-High School Diploma or GED required.
-At least 1 year of oncology experience preferred.
-Performs dose calculations, double checks accuracy of product selection and assures performance of both aseptic and hazardous drug compounding techniques that require the use of a USP797/800 compliant clean room and personal protective equipment to reduce exposure and contamination while maintaining sterility of the final product.
-Pharmacy Technician Registration with California State Board of Pharmacy.
-Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
