Description Job Duties and Responsibilities
A local union in Downtown Los Angeles is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager that will assume responsibility for managing all aspects of human resources/processes and functions for both the union and the non-profit. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing and developing comprehensive HR policies, procedures and programs to ensure that the organization is compliant with all federal and state laws and regulations governing employment. Communicate and educate employees regarding updates to personnel policies and procedures, manage the recruitment and hiring process, identify and establish various training programs, monitor the annual performance evaluation program (includes goal and objective setting), and provide on-going HR support for management with helping to identify and resolve employee relations matters. Manage work assigned to the HR Administrative Assistant.
Education and Skills Required
▪Bachelor’s Degree (human resources or public administration field preferred). MBA, PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
▪Minimum of 5 (five) to 7 (seven) years of providing top-level HR support with the development of programs, policies and procedures.
▪High proficiency with current office based technology and Microsoft Office products.
▪Strong knowledge of rules and regulations within HR compliance, including but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, EEOC/Affirmative Action, Workers’ Compensation and OSHA, state, local, and federal labor regulations, HIPAA.
