Parsons is engaged in some of the most interesting and transformative urban transportation and infrastructure projects in the United States. We have a long history of involvement with a large number of prime transportation agencies and infrastructure clients across the country and have locally participated in the design and construction of all Metro rail lines. We are currently delivering the Westside Subway project and are actively engaged in a number of upcoming Metro projects, such as the Gold Line Foothill Extension, the Eastside LRT Extension, and the new LRT Corridor in the San Fernando Valley. Outside of California, we are working with almost all major transit agencies on expanding their urban transit networks.
We are actively looking for a Lead Architect, to engage in and participate in the Urban Design and architectural design of some high-profile projects currently changing the urban context of Southern California and other areas of the US to a more pedestrian and bike friendly environment supported by public transit. If you are the right one for us, you have a strong background in leading Architectural projects, have an interest in both conceptual dsigns and detailed final design and have a couple of great projects to show off!
As a Lead Architect, you can be located either in Pasadena CA, San Antonio Texas or Chicago Illinois. You may be supporting projects in the US or internationally and will provide technical direction to a team of Architects and design personnel engaged in all phases of a multi-million dollar architectural projects. You will be responsible for the technical excellence of the architectural tasks and analyses performed, and for on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. Reviews project documents for technical accuracy and conducts in-field reviews of project quality to ensure adherence to project plan. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 12+ years related Architectural experience, preferably in the Transportation industry.
Experience as an Architect on Rail Stations/Transit facilities or similar structures is preferred.
Professional registration is required.
Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required, as well as demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong presentation skills.
