Representative, your ability to effectively build
relationships with donors and secure deferred gifts helps
contribute to our future of helping even more Jews around the
Some key areas of focus for this role
Identifying, cultivating, soliciting and managing a portfolio of
existing and prospective estate planning donors. Meeting with
current and potential donors to determine capability and propensity
for a planned gift to The Fellowship. Entering all donor
activity into donor management software.
Presenting appropriate gift planning vehicles that utilize
tax-advantaged techniques that assist donors in integrating
charitable gifts to The Fellowship with their financial
goals. Achieving individual financial goals as part of the overall
strategy for the department.
Managing all aspects of trips from research and planning to wrap
up. This includes targeting key donors in particular areas.
Working closely with Gift Planning team to formulate and direct
strategy for prospect identification, evaluation, cultivation and
Keeping abreast of news and current events from the Middle East
and those affecting Israel. Staying up-to-date on estate planning
and related tax laws as well as related industry trends.
As the ideal candidate, you’ll possess these qualities
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Non-Profit
Management or the equivalent experience in major gifts or planned
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in major gifts or planned giving
with proven fundraising track record.
Proven ability to build relationships with a wide range of
donors and to understand the needs and passions of donors.
Professional certification or membership in professional
non-profit organizations strongly desired, such as: CFRE, CSPG,
CAP, AFP, DMA.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of simple to complex planned
giving techniques, from simple bequests to charitable gift
annuities and trusts.
Knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of religions,
especially those based on Christianity and Judaism.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with
exceptional ability to create and deliver presentations.
Must exhibit effective, compassionate listening skills.
Must be skilled in identifying, cultivating, stewarding and
securing donors at a leadership level of giving.
Strong organization, time management and attention to detail
Highly organized with the ability to simultaneously manage
multiple projects with strict deadlines.
Ability to effectively work independently with minimal
Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications
(Word, Excel, Power Point) and donor databases.
