The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining control systems for cash flow, regulatory obligations, financial projections, and preparing financial statements.
*STRONG BILLING AND GREAT PLAINS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED*
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Accounting Department personnel to ensure a highly motivated and efficient staff.
Monitor invoices, accounts receivables, account payables, cash handling, and related bookkeeping functions.
Balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
Prepare franchise fee monthly calculation reports and other reports as required.
Maintain master file copies of leases, vendor service contracts, and other business agreements.
Track progress of sales promotions, sales staff productivity, and produce revenue summaries as requested by Accounting Manager.
Prepare sales and property tax returns
Assist with month and year end financial closings.
Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Three (3) or more years experience managing accounting functions.
Computer literate and able to demonstrate proficiency in software applications required in the performance of job responsibilities.
Must be able to consistently make intelligent decisions under pressure.
Possess good judgment, initiative and be dependable.
Possess excellent organizational abilities and be able to deal effectively with people.
Possess good analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deadlines is essential.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are imperative.
Education and experience: Bachelor degree required (Accounting preferred).
