Job Description – The Collections/Verification of Benefits Analyst reports directly to the COO. This is a FT/Non-Exempt position. Primary responsibilities include calling insurance carriers and verifying coverage, claim follow up calls to insure payments and billing. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: H.S. Degree, Bachelors level preferred, one or two years of mental health/substance abuse experience preferred or five years of non-mental health/substance abuse experience acceptable.
Responsibilities: Call insurance carriers and verify potential clients insurance benefits Review claims outstanding Ensure the claim payment is consistent with the benefit verified by the VOB Department (ensure the MOOP was applied correctly on all claims processed by insurance carrier) Call insurance carriers to follow up on claims Monitor claim denial reasons Generate appeal letters Call clients/patients who have outstanding balances Distribution of Self-Pay invoices to residents to insure timely collections Maintain office equipment Perform other duties as needed and directed by the COO Knowledge
Skills and Abilities: Past experience with any type of billing software Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry Computer skills including Excel spreadsheet and word processing programs, Power Point, MS Word and e mail at a highly proficient level
