We are currently seeking a Foreman to manage field work with experience in installation and maintenance of commercial landscape and/or habitat restoration projects in the northwest Los Angeles County area for a Southern California based company.
Ideally, the candidate should live in the northwest Los Angeles county area, but be willing to travel to other locations
-Reports to Superintendent and/or Project Manager
-Completes jobs within established time frame
-Plans and organizes work for crew members
-Initiates and completes required paperwork in required time frame.
-Interfaces with clients
-Must be able to read and write in English & interpret maps, plans, and specifications
-Enforces all Cal-OHSA and company safety policies
-Conducts and documents weekly tailgate safety training meetings with field personnel
-Disciplines crew members professionally and initiates proper written warnings
-Sets up truck daily with all supplies
-Maintains equipment in clean and good operating condition
-Complies with company maintenance program and guidelines
-Develops and maintains highly motivated and effective crews
-Encourages the advancement of crew members within our training programs
-Properly completes and processes timecards within required time frame
-Properly completes, processes and communicates all work authorizations
-Works as a team member
-Is neat and clean in appearance
-Ability to program and maintain irrigation controllers for optimum plant health and water conservation
-Ability to recognize and address problems or broken components within the irrigation system in a timely manner
-Ability to recognize drainage deficiencies and problematic soil conditions
-Ability to identify native plants and exotic species.
-Ability to diagnose plant health issues and take corrective actions.
-Minimum 5 years landscape/horticulture/construction leadership experience.
-Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
-Capable of traveling and being highly mobile
-Emotionally and professionally capable of leading employees, persuading clients, and communicating effectively with a broad range of people
-Capable of analytical, organizational, and clerical skills
-Fosters an enthusiastic and creative attitude.
