Under immediate supervision, performs work leading to the acquisition of a thorough knowledge of applicable codes, laws, regulations, practices, ordinances and policies in the Environmental Health Division of the Resource Management Agency.
The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill seasonal (June - October) extra help needs for the Vector Control Program. We anticipate that incumbents will work full time from June through September, and part-time again in October, at which time the extra help need is anticipated to end.
Work is performed in both the field and office environments and may require occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and moderate physical demands while making inspections.
The ideal candidate will have college course work in Biology or related science and be willing to work outdoors in a variety of environmental settings (heat, rain, fog, etc.). Also, must have effective communication skills to inform and educate the public on environmental health program information. The candidate will have the ability to carry equipment weighting up to 40 lbs. and walk on uneven and wet ground.
Incumbents may be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill. DEPARTMENT/AGENCY:
