General Manager of Altezza Restaurant
The General Manager position at Altezza at The Peaks Resort & Spa provides an exciting opportunity to join our growing team and become part of the Telluride Ski & Golf family.
The main focus is to reposition the restaurant as one of the most popular dining venues in Telluride. The Peaks Resort & Spa has made great improvements since Telluride Ski & Golf Company took over the Hotel, Spa and F&B operations of the condominium hotel about two years ago. It is now time continue elevating the restaurant offerings, and to further elevate the guest service experience of our Telluride visitors.
Boosting the most stunning views Altezza with its floor to ceiling windows and its outdoor deck with panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains has everything one could imagine to once again be one of the top five restaurants in town. Chef Matt Janney has laid the foundations on the culinary side - it is now time to reengage and build strong and caring relationships with residence owners, ski & golf club members, the local community and all of our visitors.

Education & Experience: Candidate must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of previous F&B Management experience is required or College degree in Hospitality Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build rapport with The Peaks guests and ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience.
- Develop and manage customer files in Opentable.
- Update daily menus both in printed and electronic formats.
- Ultimately responsible for cleanliness and repair of dining areas and office.
- Attend and contribute to weekly director meetings.
- Work closely and with all management staff and Group Function Coordinator.
- Foster a culture in which customer satisfaction is the primary concern.
- Establish open lines of communication between front of the house and back of the house at all times.
- Establish role as a spokesperson for the restaurant within the community and with The Peaks guests.
- Maintain knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
- Maintain TIPS certification.
- Communicate any product shortages to the Purchaser.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interview, hire, evaluate, reward, and discipline dining personnel.
- Orientate, motivate, train, and educate all dining personnel in the Peaks policies, procedures, and rules.
- Effectively supervise floor staff to ensure professional service and guest satisfaction during hours of operation.
- Oversee grooming and appearance of the staff.
- Conduct daily line up meetings. Educate front of the house personnel in product awareness and cultivate long-term service knowledge.
- Administrate all aspects of labor for your staff.
- Your schedule must be approved by and turned in to the Culinary Services Manager on the Tuesday prior to the week of the schedule
- Take an active role to meet the financial goals of the restaurant with regard to variable labor cost without jeopardizing service
- Must take initiative to cut labor when necessary
- Constantly evaluate and make measures to increase service ability and knowledge of all staff.
