The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA), a campus of the University of Arkansas System, invites applications from highly qualified candidates for a twelve-month, full-time opening beginning no later than August 1, 2018.
The computer science specialist will play a critical role in the continued growth of ASMSA’s STEM Pathways digital learning program and Coding Arkansas’ Future initiative. This is a
grant-funded position with support from the Arkansas Department of Education. Renewal is on an annual basis.
The specialist will design age-appropriate curricular resources aligned with Arkansas’ Computer Science standards, plan and deliver face-to-face, blended, and online professional
development opportunities for middle as well as secondary teachers, and support ASMSA’s spectrum of Computer Science initiatives by planning and coordinating workshops and special events. The specialist will collaborate with other ADE support personnel on computer science professional development programs.

Salary range: $70,000-$75,000
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, education or a related area, competency in contemporary programming languages. Master’s degree greatly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency working with gifted students, supporting peers in professional development, teaching through technology, interdisciplinary curriculum, team planning & problem solving skills.
Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
