Austen Riggs Center Clinical Social Worker Full Time
Austen Riggs Center, a psychiatric hospital/residential treatment program with a completely voluntary and open setting, seeks a clinical social worker to join its social work department. The clinical social worker serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary psychodynamic treatment team. This position provides a unique career opportunity at one of the top ten best hospitals in psychiatry in the nation as rated by U.S. News and World Report. The Riggs treatment approach centers on the importance of relationships, patient authority and the meaning of symptoms. Working with psychiatrically complex adult patients and their families, social workers conduct patient and family psychosocial assessments, provide family education, consultation and family therapy, as well as dynamic casework services for patients including discharge planning.

Intensive clinical supervision is provided along with multiple learning opportunities and resources to pursue additional clinical interests such as group work, interdisciplinary committee work, research, presenting at conferences, writing for publication and participating in seminars and conferences, as well as opportunities to learn from guest lecturers and visiting scholars.
Qualifications: Master Social Worker with Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed and Independent Clinical Social Worker; Massachusetts license or eligibility. Three years post-Master Social Worker experience. Specific training and clinical experience as a family therapist preferable. Clinical social work experience from a psychodynamic and systems perspective preferable. Competitive salary and benefits package.
