Equipment Operator
General
Onslow County Schools Equipment Operator Position requires operation of a variety of print and bindery equipment as well as customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of printing machinery to include offset, high-speed copiers and bindery equipment.
- Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical operating and parts manuals.
- Ability to act independently, using proper judgment, to meet production demands.
- Ability to respond to limited time constraints and to prioritize work as a result.
- Ability to use Windows Operating Systems.
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
Education And Training:
- High School Diploma.
- One to two years experience in both offset and high-speed copier areas.
Term Of Employment: 12 months
Salary: Pay Grade 53
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Performance Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains all assigned pressroom and bindery equipment.
- Alerts supervisor when supply inventories approach minimum levels.
- Ensures that work moves between departments, avoiding stoppages and bottlenecks.
- Operates/assists with various printing equipment.
- Provides customer service when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Printing Services.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a continuing basis.
- Ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting, walking.
- Ability to bend, lift, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noises.
