Police Instructor
The Police Instructor assists in and/or is responsible for the instruction of students in basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement classes, courses and seminars conducted by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. The Police Instructor is responsible for development of curriculum and learning objectives for general police subjects and instruction of basic training and in-service training classes at KLETC and outreach sites across the state. Other tasks, duties and assignments as directed which are related to the instructional mission of KLETC. The person in this position will report directly to one of the Program Managers in the basic training program of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. Some travel is required. Employment contingent on completion of a satisfactory background check.
Required Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations in the United States recognized by the University of Kansas;
- A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience as a full-time, state or federal certified law enforcement officer;
- Effective written communications skills as evident in application materials;
- Valid Kansas driver’s license, or a valid out-of-state driver’s license and the ability to obtain a valid Kansas license.
Salary $70,000 a year.
