The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a consortium of twenty six cities and water districts that provides drinking water to nearly 19 million people in Southern California. Metropolitan’s mission is to provide its service area with adequate and reliable supplies of high quality water to meet current and future needs in an environmentally and economically responsible way. Metropolitan’s facilities include the 242-mile Colorado River Aqueduct, five conventional water treatment plants with a combined capacity of 2.3 billion gallons per day, nine surface water reservoirs, 800 miles of pipeline, and 16 hydroelectric power plants. |
We are looking to hire (3): Human Resources Analyst III - Recruiters (District Temporary). This position is located at our headquarters in downtown Los Angeles adjacent to Union Station. In this role you will perform full cycle recruitments and resource requests consistent with rules and regulations, federal and state laws, policies and procedures. As a recruiter, you will assist with filling the full range of positions Metropolitan Water District employs throughout all of our facilities. You will assist with guiding the recruitment process through conducting hiring manager meetings, drafting job announcements, planning out the employment testing, screening candidates, scheduling testing and interviews, and making job offers. District Temporary position (anticipated end date January 2020). Benefits include: 9/80 Schedule, Medical, Paid company holidays plus more. The staffing positions just keep coming and that is with almost zero voluntary turnover. We have a team of four recruiters. Two of them have been here a fairly long time and two are newer (one was a contractor here, and liked it so much she came back). We are located across from Union Station. One of the most important recruitment tools is nearby; a Starbucks. •You should be high energy (with or without caffeine). •You should be driven by the hunt and the joy of finding that right candidate and forming strategic partnerships with the hiring managers. •You should have a unique balance of patience and drive for results. •You should enjoy getting to other locations - hence the requirement of a Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent. Travel may include occasional overnight stays at our facility near the Colorado River. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Required Knowledge of: Research methods and data analysis techniques; Principles and practices of Human Resources; federal, state and local laws, regulations applicable to assigned area of responsibility; principles and practices of effective business communication; principles of business letter writing and report preparation; methods and equipment including multi-line phones, copiers, facsimile machines, and computers. This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information. |
